Senior Production Engineer
The Senior Production Engineer oversees manufacturing operations in a steel tube production facility by spearheading improvement projects and capital investments. This position utilizes knowledge of industry best practices and technical expertise in industrial equipment and automation to enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency. Working closely with production, maintenance, safety, and quality teams is essential to optimize the productivity of existing assets.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or project engineering
- Thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles
- Proficiency in industrial automation systems, such as Fanuc robots
- Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial controls
- Ability to interpret schematics and analyze equipment data effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
- Practical, hands-on approach to plant-floor operations
- Excellent communication skills and project management capabilities
- Analyze and optimize performance of production lines
- Implement improvements to enhance uptime, reduce cycle time, and increase OEE
- Resolve automation-related issues in collaboration with Maintenance and Controls teams
- Coordinate with OEMs or integrators for system enhancements
- Lead initiatives focused on process improvement for throughput, yield, and scrap reduction
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as needed
- Manage capital and improvement projects of various sizes
- Define project scope, estimate costs, and oversee execution
- Provide engineering support to production teams on a daily basis
- Develop standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides
On-site role in a heavy industrial steel tube manufacturing plant. Adherence to safety regulations and PPE required.
