The Civil Engineer Trainee position with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation offers a structured 12-month training program for new engineers to build skills across design, construction, and maintenance. You will gain hands‑on experience through field support, engineering studies, software training, and rotational assignments while supporting transportation projects in Clearfield County. This is a permanent full‑time role in PennDOT Engineering District 2‑0.
Keyqualifications
- Valid driver's license not under suspension
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field with major civil engineering coursework, or one year of civil engineering experience
- Valid Engineer‑in‑Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
- Ability to perform essential job functions
- Willingness to work full‑time Monday‑Friday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm with no telework option
