Senior Electrical Engineer

We design and develop a wide variety of world-class gas detection instruments, sensors, accessories, and infrastructure for worker connectivity and remote management. The Staff Electrical Engineer, Wireless/RF/EMC, is a senior technical leader responsible for the electrical and wireless technical outcomes of new product development and platform initiatives. This role leads the definition, architecture, integration, verification, and certification readiness of wireless and mixed-signal electrical systems, with a strong focus on RF performance, antenna integration, wireless coexistence, signal and power integrity, and EMC/EMI compliance.

The engineer serves as a technical leader across cross-functional teams, driving technical decisions from concept through production release while establishing engineering best practices and mentoring other engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and decompose system, electrical, wireless, and regulatory requirements into robust product architectures and technical solutions.
  • Lead the design, integration, verification, and release of wireless, RF, mixed-signal, and battery-powered electrical systems.
  • Serve as a technical lead on cross-functional product development projects, working closely with electrical, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and certification teams.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks related to RF performance, wireless coexistence, EMC/EMI, signal integrity, power integrity, reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, verification evidence, and design review materials to support product maturity, certification readiness, and production release.
  • Drive root cause analysis and resolution of complex technical issues impacting product performance, quality, certification, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Establish and improve engineering standards, design practices, and reusable technical solutions.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across development teams.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, certification agencies, and development partners to support successful product delivery and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

10+ years of experience developing electrical hardware products.

Technical Skills

  • Demonstrated experience with wireless, RF, mixed-signal, or EMC-sensitive electronic systems.
  • Experience defining requirements, verification approaches, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with PCB design, electrical architecture, component selection, and system integration.
  • Experience identifying and resolving RF, EMC/EMI, signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), or wireless coexistence issues.
  • Experience with RF and electrical test equipment and engineering analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting RF, EMC, or wireless certification testing and issue resolution.
  • Experience supporting products through design, validation, and release.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience leading RF, EMC, and wireless certification activities.
  • Experience with antenna design, antenna integration, and over-the-air (OTA) testing.
  • Experience serving as a technical lead on cross-functional development programs and influencing technical decisions without direct authority.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
  • Experience establishing engineering standards, design practices, verification methodologies, or technical governance processes.
  • Experience with battery-powered or safety-critical embedded systems.
