Senior Process Mechanical Design
The Senior Process Mechanical Design role will oversee the development of process mechanical piping designs and equipment layouts using Revit and AutoCAD. The role will coordinate P&IDs and piping specifications, ensuring that designs are accurate and meet project requirements. The position will involve cross-discipline model coordination and clash resolution, ensuring that designs are integrated seamlessly. The role will develop detailed process mechanical and piping drawings, ensuring they meet the required level of detail at project design gates and milestones.
Additionally, the position will be responsible for valve and equipment scheduling, ensuring all components are accurately documented and scheduled. The role will also help lead the team in implementing best practices and innovative solutions to improve design efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed mechanical equipment layout designs and piping specification coordination with advanced proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD.
- Undertake challenging assignments independently, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of mechanical piping design.
- Develop mechanical/piping drawings keeping in mind the level of detail at project design gates/milestones.
- Demonstrate excellent coordination skills in managing P& and cross-discipline model coordination/clash resolution.
- Foster professional development by leveraging knowledge and skills to devise innovative techniques or approaches.
- Provide advanced technical support, solving a range of production and equipment issues with minimal supervision.
- Act as a team lead or coordinator on occasion, while also performing as an individual contributor.
- Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.
Mentorship
- May provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow within their roles.
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced in utilizing Revit/AutoCAD for design purposes.
- Advanced skill set in process mechanical piping design and process mechanical equipment layout.
- Advanced skills in coordinating P& piping specifications.
- Excellent in cross discipline model coordination/clash resolution.
- Extensive understanding of level of detail at project design gates/milestones.
Experience
- Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of process mech design or related experience.
- Demonstrated experience in detailed mechanical layout designs and piping specification coordination.
- Proven track record in P& and Cross-Discipline Model Coordination/Clash resolution.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 8+ years of experience in municipal and/or industrial projects (water and/or wastewater treatment plant experience preferred)
- Experience with Microstation, in addition to Revit and AutoCAD
Education
- An associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology or related field or equivalent experience is required.
Salary Range:
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A: $34.10 - $46.20 Location B: $37.50 - $51.00 Location C: $40.80 - $55.30
