Temporary Wedding And Events Coordinator
Heinz Chapel is seeking a part-time temporary wedding and events coordinator. Be part of a team that has hosted weddings and events for happy couples and guests for decades at a breathtaking, iconic building in Pittsburgh. Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as the chapel representative at weddings and events for clients, vendors and guests. Heinz Chapel is non-denominational and open to all faiths.
- Communicates with wedding couples in the weeks leading up to their wedding, oversees the rehearsal in tandem with the officiant, and coordinates during the ceremony.
- Acts as a building steward, maintaining keys and badge access. Secures and opens the building.
- Oversees vendor (photographers, videographers, officiants, etc.) compliance with guidelines and strict time schedules.
- Develops an understanding of all technical aspects of the chapel including audio and lighting systems and recorded organ system
- Other duties and special projects as assigned. Opportunity to work additional events as available (concerts, etc.)
Weekend and evening work will be required in this position. Incumbent to work approximately two weekends per month. Every attempt will be made to provide work schedules at least one to two months in advance.
Availability preferred:
Thursdays 3:45-5:45 PM Fridays 1:30-7:15 PM Saturdays 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM Occasional Sunday afternoons

Fridays 3:45 PM-7:15 PM Saturdays: 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM Occasional Sunday afternoons
Note:
This position is part-time and starts at $20 per hour. Once training is completed (within the first 3 months of employment), there is an opportunity for a wage increase, $21.50. Chapel guidelines and policies need to be followed; however, each event (wedding, memorial service, etc.) requires the incumbent to be sensitive to the individuals involved. Must handle difficult and complex situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain a service-oriented environment.
Weekend and evening work is essential.
This role involves moving through the chapel building and grounds during events and tours, which may include extended periods of physical activity. The position requires the ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds. If needed, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this role.
A high school diploma or GED is required. Customer service and/or event planning experience preferred.
