Job Summary

The Retail Host serves as the welcoming face of the hospital retail environment, creating a positive and memorable experience for patients, visitors, families, and staff. As a highly visible, guest-facing role, the Retail Host is often one of the first individuals guests encounter and is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service with warmth, compassion, and professionalism.

+ Positions may be filled as Full-Time, Flex Full-Time, Part-Time, or Casual based on operational needs.

+ Requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays.

+ Candidates should have open availability and the ability to adapt to changing schedules in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Engages guests using the designated department script, to include proper greeting, eye contact and smiling

Serves meals within established time frames, adhering to departmental standards for appearance, food quality, and temperature control.

Adheres to hand hygiene and infection control procedures on a consistent basis when interacting with customers.

Displays customer service skills when responding to meal service requests, resulting in a satisfied customer.

Communicates customer complaints and concerns effectively with other team members.

Adheres to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.

Performs sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.

Clear tables of dishes and other used items.

Expedite food items and service customers.

Receive and place food orders from customers when applicable.

Clean, stock and maintain service station and all service areas where applicable

Complete any closing side work assigned.

Demonstrate an understanding of and proficiency with the Culture of Service model.

* Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Diploma/GED, OR 1 year previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.

* Excellent Customer Service experience preferred.

* Work permit required if under 18 years old.
