Manager - Business Valuation

We are a well-respected, mid-size public accounting firm in the Pittsburgh area seeking a highly accomplished Manager to help lead and oversee our Business Valuation practice. As a Manager, you will be responsible for managing Business Valuation/Litigation Valuation engagements, developing client relationships, and providing strategic financial guidance. Your expertise, leadership, and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in driving our success and growth.

Engagements will encompass client operations across a variety of industries, and have involvement with family law. You would be joining an established office and growing BV practice in Pittsburgh and receiving mentorship and support from seasoned industry professionals in the market. High-performing candidates have a clearly defined path for advancement to leadership positions within the firm.

Key Responsibilities Scope of Work:

• Review and manage valuation support engagements, working collaboratively with clients and team members to ensure engagement expectations, budgets, and timelines are met
• Perform and review private company valuation reports, governance documents, divorce valuation and rebuttal reports, and business valuation reports
• Identify the most effective means of meeting engagement objectives, including the use of technology and the right mix of procedures and personnel
• Work diligently building relationships with key stakeholders at client organizations to continue to foster a long-term partnership between the firm's Litigation and Valuation Department and external clients, attorneys, and bankers
• High-performing individuals will be alert to client needs for the possible expansion of services to other service lines. Possess a thorough understanding of valuation theory application, documentation, specialty practice standards, applicable laws, and regulations to provide effective solutions to complex client issues
• Responsible for the development, mentorship, and training of Staff, Seniors, and Managers.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive Business Valuation experience with a strong skillset in excel modeling.
• Industry certifications are a plus (CVA, ASA, ABV and/or other applicable certifications)
• 2+ years of leadership and training of Staff and Senior Analysts with a demonstrated increased level of responsibility and leadership accountability.
• Experience in divorce valuations and some understanding of fundamental issues including personal goodwill, marital/separate assets, and asset tracing and forensic accounting skills. Experience in business valuations with some understanding of fundamental issues including Blue Sky Value, Blue Sky Multiples, and the nuances of the hybrid valuation approaches in this industry
• Proven ability to work independently on projects and provide a high level of customer service to clients, attorneys, and general project stakeholders
