BNY Mellon seeks a Vice President, Credit Risk to lead credit risk oversight across complex global portfolios. In this role, you will shape credit risk strategy, policies, and governance while ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and BNY's risk appetite. You will assess counter parties, approve complex exposures, drive portfolio analytics and stress testing, and partner with business leaders to balance growth with sound risk controls.

You will lead and develop a high-performing team, collaborate across global functions, and contribute to innovation in data-driven credit risk management and market infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead credit risk strategy, governance, and policy for assigned portfolios in alignment with BNY's risk appetite and regulatory expectations
  • Oversee identification, measurement, and monitoring of credit risk across counter parties, products, and regions
  • Review and approve complex credit exposures, limits, and transactions, ensuring sound underwriting and structuring
  • Develop and refine credit risk models, metrics, and stress testing frameworks in partnership with quantitative and data teams
  • Produce, interpret, and present portfolio analytics, trends, and early warning indicators to senior leadership and risk committees
  • Ensure adherence to global regulatory requirements and internal risk management standards, partnering with Compliance and Legal
  • Collaborate with business lines to balance risk and return, supporting product innovation and client growth within credit limits
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing credit risk team, fostering continuous learning and collaboration
  • Drive enhancements to credit risk systems, data quality, and reporting processes for greater transparency and control
  • Engage with internal and external auditors, regulators, and rating agencies on credit risk matters and remediation plans
