Position Overview

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking a reliable individual who thrives on interaction, prioritizes safety, and wishes to play a vital role in maintaining a beloved destination for visitors.
Description of WorkYour primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety of the public within the operations of the State Park, particularly at the Kinzua Bridge State Park Complex. You will welcome guests, provide information about facilities, recreational activities, park history, and local environmental features, and clarify park rules and regulations. You will patrol the park on foot and occasionally use motorized vehicles.
You will be prepared to respond to emergencies and administer first aid, including CPR and artificial respiration.

- Seasonal, full‑time position from March 2026 to November 2026. Unpaid leave during the off‑season, with automatic re‑employment in March 2027.
- Shift hours and days vary due to operational needs, with a 30‑minute lunch break.
- No telework option.
- Active motor vehicle license.
- Valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent, obtained within 60 days of employment.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- This position follows the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law, requiring satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
- Criminal and Federal Criminal History Checks are required at hire and every 5 years thereafter.
