This position supports accurate inmate recordkeeping and helps maintain timely and reliable information for staff and partner agencies. The role involves reviewing, updating, and verifying documentation related to inmate status throughout confinement. As a Records Specialist 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Record Maintenance:Collect information from multiple sources and verify accuracy by reviewing court orders and system data
- Information Updates:Enter sentence changes and ensure required details are provided to staff, inmates, and partner agencies
- Intake Processing:Interview, photograph, and fingerprint inmates while explaining relevant procedures
- Identity Verification:Process photographs and fingerprints to confirm identification and support offender registration
- Transport Coordination:Arrange inmate movements for court or release and confirm authorization before transferring custody
- General Support:Assist with additional assigned tasks that help maintain reliable records and institutional operations
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

- Two years of clerical or correctional custodial experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
