This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $5,000 for a 2-year work commitment!
Responsibilities:
Filling
+ Assist in filling medication orders and preparing oral/injectable medications, including hazardous drugs.
Distribution
+ Distribute medications, retrieve discontinued ones, and maintain service relationships.
Investigational
+ Handle procurement, storage, preparation, and distribution of investigational drugs.
General
+ Communicate with hospital personnel, ensure safe storage of medications, maintain a clean work environment, use computer skills for patient records, and comply with regulations.
+ Manage inventory, update automated stations, and assist in training.
Controlled Substances
+ Maintain and audit controlled substance records, ensuring compliance.
Additional Duties
+ Perform other assigned duties and adhere to system-wide competencies.
+ Completion of high school diploma or equivalent required AND one of the following:
+ Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program
+ Six months of previous pharmacy technician experience required
+ Six months experience as a Pharmacy Assistant within the UPMC Health System
+ Enrollment in a college program and in good standing
ATTENTION: A COPY OF YOUR HIGHEST DEGREE LEVEL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
PA State Board of Pharmacy Registration required for all PA locations;
If working in a New York facility, must have received certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy program (CPhT) and be registered with the New York State Board of Pharmacy.
+ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
