The Department of Human Services is seeking a dedicated Nurse Aide who enjoys caring for others and helping them reach their goals. In this position, you will assist residents with daily needs, support therapeutic routines, and help create a positive living environment. This position provides direct care and daily support to residents while assisting staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and encouraging environment. As a Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:

• Resident Care: Provide personal hygiene support, meet physical and emotional needs, and maintain safe living conditions
• Rehabilitation Support: Assist staff with restorative programs that help residents reach their highest potential
• Therapeutic Interaction: Use communication skills and crisis prevention techniques while advocating for residents
• Care Planning: Participate in team meetings, discuss treatment goals, and help maintain clean and sanitary conditions
• Daily Instruction: Teach residents basic tasks, assist with meals, and apply infection control techniques
• Status Communication: Report changes in resident condition or environment through verbal or written updates

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM with a 30 minute lunch
  • Rotating on and off duty days.
  • Working weekends and holidays in accordance with assigned schedule.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry;
  or
• Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.

• This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police & FBI clearance.
