The Atterbury isn't just a hotel — it's a story Pittsburgh is still writing. Housed in one of the city's most storied buildings and reborn as a Marriott Autograph Collection property, we're guided by three pillars:
Abundance, Wonder, and Confluence.
As Assistant General Manager, you will help lead hotel operations with a strong focus on Food & Beverage. This role is ideal for an experienced hospitality leader with deep F&B expertise across restaurants, bars, banquets, catering, and culinary operations. The AGM will partner closely with the General Manager and property leadership team to drive exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and a culture of accountability and hospitality.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable reviewing a P&L, coaching leaders, evaluating labor and food costs, engaging with guests, and stepping into the operation during peak business periods. At Sage Hospitality Group, we believe in the power of place and the people who bring it to life. We invest in growth, development, bold ideas, and leaders who want to make an impact.
Responsibilities include managing associates in assigned divisions, serving as a key operational partner to the General Manager, developing and managing the division's annual budget, monitoring Food & Beverage financial performance, partnering with Food & Beverage and culinary leaders on menu strategy, ensuring strong purchasing, receiving, inventory, cost-control, food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service practices, overseeing and supporting banquet and catering operations, partnering with Sales, Catering, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Operations to maximize Food & Beverage, group, private dining, catering, and event revenue opportunities, implementing company and franchise programs, resolving guest complaints, implementing emergency organization procedures and training, creating a work environment that allows for personal growth and development, ensuring prompt and appropriate response to conflict management, evaluating and supporting proper staffing levels, positions, scheduling, and labor productivity, supporting strategies for the property from an operations, staffing, service, and Food & Beverage perspective, maintaining a visible, hands-on leadership presence, ensuring consistent and stabilized systems and processes for guests, mentoring and developing high-potential and future high-potential talent, fostering strong collaboration across Food & Beverage, culinary, rooms, sales, engineering, finance, human resources, and other hotel disciplines, looking for more efficient and effective ways to provide services to the hotel and owners, and leveraging technology and third parties where appropriate.
Other responsibilities include all other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management, and requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs dictate.
Supervisory duties include direct and indirect oversight of 5 to 400 employees, including Food & Beverage, Culinary, Front Office, Housekeeping, and other operational departments.
At Sage Hospitality, how we work matters just as much as what we do. We are guided by a shared purpose to enrich lives, one experience at a time, and a vision to redefine how the world experiences hospitality. At The Atterbury, we are guided by:
