Clubhouse Service Attendant
The Duquesne Club's atmosphere is one that welcomes every member and guest with a smile, eye contact, and professional courtesy. The Clubhouse Service Attendant is a combination of porter, bell person and door attendant. These positions play a key role in ensuring a positive first and lasting impression. The Clubhouse Service Attendant is designed to provide seamless support across duties, ensuring flexibility to assist one another where needed.
One must always be professional, friendly, engaging, and helpful while providing memorable experience. Teamwork is essential, together everyone achieves more.
Responsibilities:
· Follow all club, state, and Allegheny County safety and emergency guidelines.
· Adhere to OSHA standards, including proper handling/disposal of chemicals/the "Right-To-Know" process; use of PPE, practice proper lifting techniques, etc.
· Maintain sanitation of workstations, equipment, and high-touch surfaces.
· Enforce security of Club by monitoring flow of traffic at front door—ensuring that unauthorized individuals do not enter.
· Greet and assist members/guests as they arrive/depart from Club; provide luggage, baggage, and transportation assistance.
· Assist members and guests up/down steps and with the lift when necessary.
· Learn and use member names when appropriate, delivering warm, personalized service.
· Be knowledgeable of Club facilities, including dining rooms, corporate suites and daily happenings to assist/guide membership.
· Be knowledgeable of the Club's location and its surrounding areas to assist with directions/inquiries regarding city's transportation systems, current and daily event happenings, i.e., sporting, social functions, etc.
· Assist with transportation needs, i.e., valet service, taxi, limo, etc. as per request.
· Be knowledgeable of services, club rules and general operations to handle member inquiries and enforce Club rules.
· Pick up daily function list at Front Desk and become familiar with daily events/locations.
· Turn first/second floor lights on per pre-established settings. Responsible for checking billiards room and replacing light bulbs.
· Put newspapers and magazines in Reading Room and Pine Room.
· Retrieve bellmen key from the Front Desk. This key must be returned at end of shift.
· Assist with membership tours, errands, deliveries, or other reasonable requests.
· Assist with mail pick up/distribution, errands, deliveries, or other reasonable requests.
· Maintain functionality, tidiness/cleanliness of entrances, restrooms, lounges and public areas.
· Retrieve, stock, and deliver linen, towels, and supplies, etc. to outlets and service areas.
· Assist in coat check room, front office, valet, or other service stations as assigned.
· Provide professional shoe-shine services.
· Provide ice daily to multiple outlets (dining areas, service bars, member function rooms).
· Support beverage and liquor orders, deliveries, and stocking.
· Assist with set-ups and support events when needed.
· Work collaboratively across both positions to cover breaks, vacations, or emergencies.
· Sweep/hose front sidewalks and surrounding areas; maintain cleanliness of outdoor and entrance areas.
· Perform routine parking lot cleaning.
· Maintain carbonated beverage systems in employee dining room.
· Bring issues that arise to attention of Supervisor. Complete administrative paperwork as necessary and forward to supervisor.
· Observe grooming/personal hygiene standards and rules of conduct, policies and procedures established for Club employees.
· Attend Club meetings/training as assigned.
· Ensures that all safety, emergency procedures, and worker's comp procedures are practiced. Reporting any hazards or injuries to their supervisor or human resources.
