Principal Consultant Role

The Principal Consultant, acting as a technical advisor, is tasked with developing, mentoring, and training the Professional Services team, including overseeing their onboarding and maintaining up-to-date expertise on service offerings. This role supports Delivery Management and Resource Management in achieving delivery Theater objectives and revenue targets, while also handling client escalations by liaising between the delivery team and other Tenable functions.

Additionally, the Principal Consultant focuses on advancing Tenable Subk partners through training and certification onboarding and seeks opportunities to enhance the Professional Services structure through training tutorials and the creation of new methodologies. The role also includes some client billable work, shared with the responsibilities outlined.

Your Opportunity
  • Lead the technical development and mentoring of the Professional Services team and Tenable Subk Partners by creating a Tenable Professional Services Training Academy Program.
  • Develop, mentor, and train the Professional Services team, overseeing their onboarding and maintaining up-to-date expertise on service offerings.
  • Run and coordinate monthly training days and oversee new employee onboarding.
  • Act as the primary shadower for cross-training and manage cross-training across all consultants.
Value Delivery And Best Practices
  • Deliver additional value through continual insights and consultative advice based on Tenable products, client needs, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Provide thought leadership on methods and best practices for deploying and using Tenable solutions.
  • Advise clients on process best practices and assist in developing Exposure Management Programs.
  • Research user needs and assess customer requirements to enhance the maturity of their Exposure Management program.
Customer Engagement And Satisfaction
  • Ensure overall customer satisfaction while supporting delivery revenue objectives.
  • Execute customer engagements, understanding client business and unique needs to exceed expectations.
  • Handle client escalations by coordinating between the delivery team and other Tenable functions.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships and train client staff on the implementation, configuration, and best practices of the Tenable suite.
  • Liaise with Tenable Technical Support as the main point of contact for technical escalations.
Business Development Support
  • Support pre- and post-sale business development activities, including needs analysis, and assist the Services Account Management Team in identifying further revenue opportunities.
  • Liaise with Tenable Technical Support as the main point of contact for technical escalations.
  • Collaborate with PS Portfolio and Professional Services Domain Specialists to improve service offerings and product enhancements.
