Overview
Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) seeks Retirement Representative Trainees to assist members with retirement benefits. The role includes call center support, online and in‑person seminars, and data review to help members plan their future.
Responsibilities- Respond to calls and electronic inquiries to explain retirement information and answer questions.
- Prepare materials and present retirement seminars both in person and virtually.
- Meet with members to guide retirement decisions and help with forms and applications.
- Calculate retirement benefit estimates based on member information.
- Check account information for accuracy and research issues to prevent or correct errors.
- Help test system updates, identify issues, and document needed details.
- Full‑time employment (37.5 hours per week).
- Work hours:
8:00 AM‑4:30 PM or 8:30 AM‑5:00 PM, Monday‑Friday with a 60‑minute lunch. - Travel within Pennsylvania required; additional travel may be discussed.
- Telework opportunity: after initial in‑office training, up to 4 days a week subject to operational needs.
- Position may require overtime as necessary.
- Salary: starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
- Four years of staff support experience in human resources administration, financial management, public relations, or a related pension/retirement system; or
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, human resources, business administration, business management, psychology, labor relations, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Eligible to work in Pennsylvania (meeting residency requirement).
- Must be able to perform essential functions as outlined in the position description.
- Conditional offer of employment requires criminal history reports.
