Data Governance Specialist

This job is responsible for the extraction of metadata from various Highmark data sources, the integration of Data Governance tools, and the integration of those tools to other enterprise tools. The position is to enhance and support data governance capabilities within Highmark Health. This includes working with development teams on the capturing of metadata, the establishment of data lineage within their application areas, and the supply of metadata to consuming users and processes.

It also involves working with Data Stewards to provide them the necessary support for metadata validation and curation.

• Establishment of best practices and standards for Data Governance tool capabilities. This includes Data Catalog, Data Lineage and Data Classification capabilities.
• Collaboration between user (Data Analysts, Data Stewards, Data Scientists, Architects, Developers and Domain Owners) needs and Vendor tool capabilities.
• Configure and support Data Governance capabilities (Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Data Glossaries, Data Dictionaries, Data Classification / Tagging, Risk and Privacy Management, Metadata Management, and others).
• Responsible for data interactions between the data governance tools via APIs
• Dashboard development
• Trainers and promoters of the Data Governance tools.
