Job Description
- Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network monitoring and management tools platforms.
- Support and administer tools such as Solarwinds, Logi Splunk, Nagios, LiveNX.
- Develop and manage custom integrations, dashboards, and APIs between network tools and IT systems.
- Build and maintain automation workflows for network provisioning, configuration management, and data collection (e.g., using Ansible, Python, or REST APIs).
- Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of network tools infrastructure.
- Collaborate with network operations, engineering, and security teams to define monitoring and alerting standards.
- Manage data ingestion pipelines for logs, SNMP traps, syslogs, and streaming telemetry.
- Create and maintain documentation, topology maps, and operational runbooks.
- Participate in incident response and assist in root cause analysis through monitoring data and metrics.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools or enhancements to improve visibility, automation, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with security and change management policies.
Qualifications &
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.
- 7 years of experience in network tools deployment & management.
- Hands-on experience with at least two network monitoring/management tools (e.g., Solar Winds, Net Brain, Splunk, Cisco DNA Center, Thousand Eyes).
- Solid understanding of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, SNMP, Net Flow, Syslog, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs).
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Power Shell for automation and data processing.
- Experience with Linux system administration and API-based integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud and hybrid network monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Preferred:
- Monitoring/automation certifications (Solar Winds Certified Professional, Ansible Certified Engineer, etc.).
- Networking certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent).
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or Jenkins for network automation and CI/CD pipelines.
