Azure Dev Ops Engineer & Administrator
Position Summary:
We are seeking an Azure Dev Ops Engineer & Administrator to support mission critical government systems and cloud modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for architecting, securing, and maintaining Azure Dev Ops and Git Hub Enterprise environments, implementing CI/CD automation, and ensuring compliance with commonwealth security frameworks. The ideal candidate has deep experience with Azure Dev Ops tooling, Git Hub administration, and secure cloud operations within regulated environments.
Work Schedule:
- FT role - 40 hours per week - Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, minus Commonwealth holiday. Work hours include a 1-hour lunch break (start time and length of lunch may be negotiable).
- Requests to work on Commonwealth holidays or overtime always need to have prior approval and justification.
- Telework:
This position is eligible for part-time telework. For the first 3 months the resource is required in the office every Wednesday and Thursday (8:30-4:30 - 30 min lunch). After that the in-office requirement is at least 1 day monthly (first Wednesday of each month). - Additional days in the office may be required based on work and meeting activities and the telework schedule may be modified at any time.
- Resources must maintain a secure high-speed internet connection when teleworking. Resources who cannot telework will be required to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Azure Dev Ops & Git Hub Enterprise Administration
- Administer and optimize Azure Dev Ops Services (Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts, Test Plans).
- Configure branch policies, security groups, service connections, and agent pools.
- Ensure compliance with governance, auditing, and security best practices.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize Dev Ops workflows.
- Provide extensive assistance to the projects to reach to the Azure Dev Ops Maturity level
- Administer Git Hub Enterprise Cloud or Server, including organizations, repositories, teams, permissions, and SSO integrations.
- Implement governance policies, repository standards, and secure branching strategies across both platforms.
- Manage RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), access reviews, audit logs, and compliance configurations aligned with federal identity and security requirements.
- Support migration efforts between Azure Dev Ops and Git Hub when required.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to support ATO processes, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring.
Azure Dev Ops - CI/CD Pipeline Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain secure Manual and YAML based CI/CD pipelines in Azure Pipelines and Git Hub Actions.
- Integrate automated testing, code scanning, artifact management, and approval workflows aligned with agency change control processes.
- Integrate pipelines with Azure services such as App Services, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), Functions, SQL, Key Vault, and Storage
- Implement reusable pipeline templates, workflow automation, and environment-based deployment strategies.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with development, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and program teams to support modernization initiatives.
- Provide guidance on Dev Ops best practices, Git workflows, and automation strategies.
- Provide guidance and assistance for Git Hub, Git Hub copilot
- Provide technical, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to Dev Ops standards and documentation.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex pipeline, infrastructure, and deployment issues.
- Support onboarding of new teams and projects into Azure Dev Ops.
- Document processes, standards, and operational procedures
