HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Help accelerate market adoption of green building across the Northeast region as a Manager, U.S. Market Transformation & Development. In this role, you’ll drive growth by translating strategy into execution, bringing USGBC’s mission to life through smart go-to-market plans and visible wins that move markets. You will represent the organization in assigned local markets and cultivate relationships with members, volunteers, partners, and other existing and prospective stakeholders.

You will lead business development across priority sectors and geographies, responsible for building and managing a strong pipeline for USGBC and GBCI products, including membership, sponsor ships, credentials and project registrations/certifications. Success in this role requires a balance of strategic thinking, sales execution, and relationship management.

You will localize national, sector-focused campaigns to resonate in regional markets, positioning USGBC and GBCI solutions to influence project registrations, certifications and long-term adoption. As a connector and convener, you will cultivate strategic alliances to expand reach, drive demand, and elevate green building leadership. You will represent USGBC at industry events, contribute stories and content to USGBC media channels that spotlight local leadership, and celebrate the projects and people advancing sustainability across the region.

Reporting to the Regional Director, your primary territory includes Upstate New York, Delaware, and Pennsylvania with opportunities to support other communities in the North region.

This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in an externally facing, growth-oriented environment while collaborating across a “team of teams” to achieve shared revenue and impact goals. If you’re a growth-minded, relationship builder motivated by purpose, performance, and tangible results, this role offers a platform to make a measurable market and business impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and execute go-to-market plan for assigned locations and sectors aligned with U.S. annual growth and revenue targets for USGBC & GBCI products (e.g., membership, sponsorship, credentials, project registrations, etc.).
  • Grow and manage a qualified business pipeline by sourcing, qualifying, and advancing leads, prospects, and opportunities through outreach, sector campaigns, and partner channels; develop targeted lists and activation plans by market and sector.
  • Own the sales cycle for annual and event sponsor ships from prospecting and packaging to negotiation and close, collaborating with appropriate teams on fulfillment of benefits.
  • Plan and manage market engagements that position and advance USGBC priorities in target markets; meet key engagement metrics (e.g. event registrations, sponsors, partner activations, etc.)
  • Support engagement opportunities with aligned chapters and partners by attending in?market events and leveraging local memberships, committees, and funded initiatives to advance market development efforts.
  • Execute nationally-developed, sector-focused campaigns in the local markets, converting awareness and engagement into revenue-generating product adoption.
  • Represent USGBC externally at industry events and provide speakers/thought leadership to elevate visibility and credibility in target sectors and markets.
  • Develop plans for and manage strategic accounts for sustained engagement and growth in new opportunities.
  • Establish and grow relationships with allied organizations, industry associations, and channel partners to expand the reach and positioning of USGBC.
  • Support market storytelling by submitting content for the website, newsletters, and social media that celebrates local leadership, community engagement, annual awards, and LEED and other certification milestones.
