Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Senior Director, DAG Client Solutions for our Data Analytics & Governance (DAG) practice. The Senior Director, DAG Client Solutions serves as the operating leader for DAG’s client delivery platform, with responsibility for the integrated operational, technical, staffing, and service delivery functions that support the practice’s client-facing work.
You’ll lead the development of scalable, high-quality, defensible, innovative, and commercially effective solutions while bringing historically independent functions together as one integrated Client Solutions team. Working closely with DAG leadership, lawyers, and firm administrative teams, you’ll translate practice strategy into consistent execution across Operations, Digital Forensics, Infrastructure, Solutions Architecture, Data Engineering and Processing, Development, Emerging Legal Solutions, Client Services Project Management, Managed Review, Recruiting and Specialized Talent, and other operational functions.
You’ll provide leadership across service delivery, resource and staffing strategy, team performance, quality, technology and innovation, and operational decision-making. This role combines executive leadership with a strong client-service and consultative orientation. You’ll help evolve DAG’s operating model, develop multidisciplinary teams, scale new solutions and technologies, and strengthen the client experience while balancing quality, risk, efficiency, and commercial performance. Maintaining an in-office presence is important to delivering our services through an integrated and collaborative work culture.
This position can be resident in any one of our Boston, Century City, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, or Washington, DC offices and follows a hybrid three (3) days per week in-office working arrangement.
Strategy & Leadership
Serve as a member of DAG leadership and advise practice leadership on delivery strategy, operating model, resource needs, service quality, risk, innovation, and execution priorities. Develop and lead an integrated Client Solutions strategy that supports DAG’s core practice and emerging legal solutions and enables sustainable growth. Translate strategic priorities into clear operating plans, decision rights, accountabilities, performance expectations, and measurable outcomes.
Build alignment and accountability across multidisciplinary teams and represent Client Solutions in significant practice and firm initiatives.
Design, implement, and continuously improve an integrated Client Solutions operating model spanning intake, scoping, staffing, workflows, matter handoffs, escalation, communication, closing, and knowledge transfer. Establish consistent delivery standards across Client Solutions while preserving flexibility for different clients, matters, technologies, risk profiles, and service offerings. Maintain executive oversight of significant client and matter delivery issues, facilitating timely resolution of escalations and ensuring appropriate communication with lawyers, clients, and firm stakeholders.
Partner with DAG legal leadership and matter teams to align operational execution with legal strategy, client expectations, defensibility requirements, budgets, and timelines. Capture lessons learned and successful approaches to drive continuous improvement across matters and teams.
Lead the Client Solutions people and organizational strategy, including structure, role clarity, workforce planning, succession planning, hiring, retention, training, career development, and performance management.
