Project Manager
A project manager with program manager responsibilities. Must have great soft skills, able to communicate with stakeholders and higher-level executives in meetings concisely. This person will need to be a program manager who owns the execution of highly regulated, multi-million-dollar initiatives that bring health insurance plans from concept to market. Operating at the intersection of clinical compliance, corporate strategy, actuarial risk, and enterprise technology, this role involves managing multiple interconnected projects rather than a single workflow.
Manage and maintain the program tracker and overall program roadmap to meet all Commercial Sales initiatives, business readiness activities, growth strategies, and onboarding new clients/members to the platform. Manage intake, project status, and Commercial program critical status reporting. Weekly program status updates and reporting for stakeholder and executive leadership meetings. Lead executive program status meetings and escalations with various stakeholders.
Workforce Operations / Business & Enterprise Pipeline Review meeting facilitation and guidance. Monthly Oracle placeholder funding and forecasting coordination. Provide daily support for multiple PMs and projects on risks, issues, scope/schedule management, executive escalations, status quality, resource concerns, change controls, and delivery readiness. Annual planning, lessons learned, process improvement, and Sales/enGen Collaboration Summit activities. Monitor project status and milestones to ensure the schedule meets business go-live needs by timelines.
Prioritize items affecting delivery dates, provide escalation as needed, ensure funding aligns with timelines, and assist multiple PMs in gaining executive decisions as needed. Guide business leaders on delivery status and go-live readiness. Attend various project meetings when requested or when delivery is at risk/off track to assist PM. Guide updates needed to financial placeholder values and future funding visibility.
Partner with Portfolio/Finance resources to confirm expected future work and funding assumptions.
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Experience:
7 years of experience in project management, including leading a team of project managers to successfully deliver project portfolios under a very tight timeframe. Must have experience with large, complex programs in the insurance product space
Competencies:
Strong understanding of project management principles and best practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences. Strong organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands. Proven ability to manage projects using a wide range of methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
Experience leading a team of Project Managers to deliver projects assigned to the team. Critical thinking and adaptability are essential to meet the outcomes. Health insurance industry experience, particularly client, is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in project management in the healthcare or health insurance industry Experience with the following tools used at client , Planview, and Oracle ERP Resource and Financial module. Experience with Open Enrollment (OEP/AEP) readiness planning.
Position Location:
Flexible. [If in one of Highmark locations, in Office 3 days a week (Tues, Wed, Thurs).] The strong preference is for candidates who are local to Pittsburgh or are close enough to Pittsburgh that they can commute Tuesday-Thursday per the business needs. # of positions: 2 Contract or contract to hire:
