Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quoting or purchasing within a manufacturing environment. This role requires collaboration with the Engineering team to determine requirements for quoting materials and setting delivery times.

Responsibilities

* Provide support to our manufacturing operations by quoting manufacturing materials and determining feasibility, cost, and lead-time.

* Purchase production materials while ensuring timely delivery.

* Maintain inventories and work on reducing material costs while ensuring quality.

* Identify opportunities to lower costs of purchased goods, eliminate waste, and improve quality.

* Accurately follow all processes and standards.

* Effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers.

* Manage inventories of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.

* Understand the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility.

Essential Skills

* 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

* Experience with ERP systems and modern MRP systems.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

* Ability to manage supplier relationships and transactions.

* Knowledge of inventory management for raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.

* Understanding of manufacturing plant operations.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain or Management preferred.

* Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint:

Requisition ing, Approval, Purchase Order, Receiving, and Inventory Relieving.

* Working knowledge of LEAN/Toyota Production System is preferred.

* Consideration given to candidates with an Associate's degree or no degree if they have 6+ years of relevant experience.

* Experience with SAP is also valued.

Work Environment

The position is based in a fast-paced, clean manufacturing facility. The role supports the Engineering group and follows a business casual dress code. Working hours are from 7 am to 4 pm, with overtime required  robotics industry is growing in the Pittsburgh area, offering potential room for growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PITTSBURGH, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.88 - $36.06/hr.
