What you’ll do- Disassemble and clean parts for rebuild.
- Reassemble new or reconditioned parts.
- Use of jib cranes, fork trucks, and overhead cranes-all training provided.
- Bearing disassembly, cleaning, mounting, and assembly
- Use of a torch
- Use of measuring devices, calipers, mics, feeler gauges
- Perform field service jobs with steel mills.
- Routinely repair/maintain facility machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Blueprint reading-interpret drawings.
- Complete inspection forms and related paperwork
- Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean and orderly.
- Perform daily clean up, removal of trash, coolant, oil, scrap, chips, etc
- Work collaboratively in a Union environment.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Mechanic/Millwright experience in the Manufacturing Industry preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of mechanic-like experience preferred but not required.
- Good working knowledge of mechanical tools.
- Mathematics - knows basic shop math and other functions necessary for the job.
- Blueprint reading - interprets drawings preferred.
- Self-motivated to identify, analyze and independently work to find solutions to flow issues.
- Ability to learn and understand critical processes and operations in assigned areas.
- Must be able to show a high level of job-related documentation.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
