Machine Shop Laborer

TOPS Staffing is hiring a reliable Machine Shop Laborer to primarily handle parts or hardware washing for a growing client in the Plum/Penn Hills area of Pittsburgh. Job Details:

Hours:

7am to 3pm
- Daylight shift

Schedule:

Monday to Friday - OT Is available but rarely mandated. Pay Rate: $16.00hr
- Raise to $17 to $18hr after contract period with TOPS

Key Responsibilities:

• General cleaning of warehouse and shop areas: sweeping, wiping down equipment, emptying trash and recycling.
• Washing of parts – Loading baskets of parts onto a conveyor belt the machine takes care of the washing part of this process. Must be able to lift around 45lbs on a regular basis, as the baskets do get a bit heavier once filled.
• Move products using push carts throughout the shop area to bring to the washing department.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in manufacturing or general labor position preferred
• Machine shop exposure would be a huge plus but not required
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, and move up to 45lbs regularly
• Willingness to learn new skills and help out in various areas as needed (helps to progress into other roles with increased rates of pay)
• Good attention to details is helpful in this role to spot check parts as they are coming out of wash machine.
