Offent Printer Pressman

We are seeking an experienced Offset Printer Pressman to join our production team. This hands-on position is responsible for setting up and operating our KBA 7-color sheetfed offset press with double coater to produce high-quality printed packaging materials. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of offset printing processes, excellent mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing quality work while maintaining production efficiency.

• Prepare and set up the KBA 7-color, double coater offset press according to job specifications, including installing plates, adjusting ink and coating systems, and loading paperboard into the feeder.
• Review job tickets and verify production specifications before beginning each job.
• Perform press make-ready, registration, and color adjustments to meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Operate the press safely and efficiently to produce high-quality printed materials while meeting production schedules.
• Monitor print quality throughout each production run, making adjustments as needed to maintain color consistency, registration, coating quality, and overall print appearance.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance, identifying and correcting mechanical problems to minimize downtime.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maximize productivity while minimizing waste and spoilage.
• Clean and maintain the press and surrounding work area to ensure optimal machine performance and safe operation.
• Coordinate with fellow operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisors to ensure production schedules and customer deadlines are achieved.
• Use company software to accurately record make-ready times, production speeds, downtime, waste, and other production data.
• Follow all company safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and quality policies.

• High school diploma or GED required. A vocational or technical certificate in Printing Technology or a related field is considered an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating sheetfed offset printing presses in a commercial printing or packaging manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating KBA (Koenig & Bauer) offset presses is strongly preferred.
• Experience operating 7-color presses and double coater systems is highly preferred.
• Experience printing folding cartons, paperboard, or other packaging materials is an asset.
• Strong understanding of offset printing processes, press setup, color matching, registration, and print quality standards.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality products while minimizing waste.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
