Electromechanical Technician
This role focuses on assembling, testing, and troubleshooting complex electromechanical products in a fast-paced, clean manufacturing environment. The technician supports product quality and reliability by following detailed work instructions, interpreting engineering documentation, and contributing to continuous process improvement. This position also plays a key role in training team members and supporting safety and quality initiatives within a growing robotics-focused operation, with strong potential for long-term career growth.
Responsibilities- Assemble electromechanical products accurately while carefully following detailed work instructions.
- Test electromechanical products to ensure they meet performance, quality, and reliability standards.
- Troubleshoot small electromechanical products to identify and resolve functional and performance issues.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing processes and test equipment to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Interpret engineering prints and electrical schematics to guide assembly, wiring, and testing activities.
- Interpret and develop production documentation, including work instructions and checklists, to support consistent and repeatable manufacturing processes.
- Perform industrial panel wiring and mechanical assembly as required for electromechanical systems.
- Train production employees on safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing processes.
- Support safety and quality initiatives such as 5S, ESD (electrostatic discharge) controls, and FOD (foreign object damage) prevention.
- Contribute to process improvement activities to enhance efficiency, quality, and throughput in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and implement best practices.
- Perform diagnostics on electromechanical systems using appropriate tools and methods.
- Support the development and refinement of work instructions and other production documentation for new and existing products.
- Carry out other related duties as required to support production and organizational goals.
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a relevant technical degree.
- 1–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience working with electromechanical products or systems.
- Mechanical assembly experience, including working with precision components.
- Industrial panel wiring experience and familiarity with electrical assembly practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering prints and electrical schematics.
- Ability to interpret and develop production documents such as work instructions and checklists.
- Experience with testing and troubleshooting electromechanical products.
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes and test equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills in an electromechanical manufacturing context.
- Ability to train and mentor production employees on safety, quality, and processes.
- Familiarity with safety and quality initiatives such as 5S, ESD, and FOD controls.
- Experience working with precision instrumentation and complex electromechanical systems (preferred).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and reliability.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in industries such as robotics, defense, or medical devices is highly valued.
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment, including participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Solid Works or similar tools for understanding mechanical designs.
- Prior experience as a technician in manufacturing, testing, or diagnostics roles.
- Comfort working with both electrical and mechanical aspects of electromechanical systems.
- Ability to develop and refine work instructions and production documentation for new products.
- Strong communication skills to effectively train and support production team members.
- Openness to overtime as needed to meet production demands.
