Take your nursing career to the next level as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) where you will support the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing the clinical and administrative operations of the nursing department. The ADON assists in managing the nursing staff, ensuring patient care is delivered in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. They may also oversee quality assurance programs, staff training, regulatory compliance, and care plan development.

The role often includes both leadership and hands-on responsibilities in patient care.

Here’s a summary of key duties and responsibilities:

1. Supervision of Nursing Staff:
Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating nursing staff, ensuring compliance with nursing protocols and maintaining high standards of care.

2. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that the facility complies with all state, federal, and local regulations, including those from the Department of Health and other regulatory bodies.

3. Care Coordination:
Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans, ensuring they meet the individual needs of residents.

4. Quality Assurance:
Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, helping to develop and execute strategies for continuous improvement.

5. Communication:
Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, fostering effective communication and teamwork.

6. Policy Implementation:
Help create and enforce nursing policies and procedures, ensuring they align with industry standards and best practices.

7. Staff Scheduling and Management:
Assist in creating nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times and handle staffing issues as they arise.

8. Risk Management:
Help identify potential risks to resident health and safety, making recommendations for prevention and improvement.

The Assistant Director of Nursing must have a registered nursing (RN) background, experience in long-term care, and strong leadership skills
