Geisinger is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our NICU team in the Geisinger Northeast Regional Neonatology Division, consisting of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center (GWV) in Wilkes-Barre, PA and Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) in Scranton, PA. The GWV service is centered around a private room Level 3 NICU and the GCMC service is centered around a private room Level 2 NICU;
both NICUs are located immediately adjacent to their respective labor and delivery service. - Network NICU Coverage (Level 3 NICU; 14 beds, expanding to 20 beds & Level 2 NICU; 7 beds under development)
- 2,000+ deliveries annually
- Flexible shift combinations (8hr, 16hr, and 24hr shifts)
- No outpatient clinic
- Attending deliveries/delivery room management of all infants less than 35 weeks and other high-risk indications
- Admissions including history and physical
- Assessments and ongoing management of current NICU patients
- Intubation
- Umbilical line placement
- Chest tubes
- Arterial puncture
- Arterial line placement
- Ventilator management
- Others as applicable
- Education:
Bachelor's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required), Master's Degree-Physician Assistant (Preferred)
Certification(s) and License(s):
- Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
- Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
