University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to help support the Neurosurgery department at Passavant.

Hours: Monday-Friday Five 8's or Four 10's - Call every 10th weekend

Position Specifics: We are seeking an exceptional Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to work directly alongside our spine-focused neurosurgeons in a resident-free environment that empowers APPs to lead in patient care across the full continuum—from initial consult to post-operative recovery. What You’ll Do:

• Inpatient:
  Manage neurosurgical admissions, pre- and post-operative care, and discharge planning in collaboration with the attending surgeon.
• Operating Room:
  First assist in spine surgeries—expand your procedural skillset and work elbow-to-elbow with an expert surgical team.
• Consult Services:
  Evaluate and manage neurosurgical consults throughout the hospital—be the clinical lead in triaging and initiating care plans.
• Outpatient Clinic:
  Conduct pre-operative evaluations, post-operative follow-ups, and ongoing spine patient management in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
• Call:
  Participate in a light, shared weekday call rotation (1–2 nights/week) and 1 in every 10 weekends—ensuring strong continuity of care without burnout.
