Nurse Manager Opportunity
This full‑time position is held at The Meadows Psychiatric Center, a 119‑bed inpatient behavioral health facility located minutes outside State College, Central PA.
Location:
The Meadows Psychiatric Center, State College, PA.
- Supervise all aspects of the nursing department and ensure delivery of quality care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Provide administrative management, staff training, supervision, and evaluation of nursing staff including supervisor, charge nurses, LPNs, MHT managers, and MHTs.
- Prioritize and delegate duties, manage staff performance through coaching, performance reviews, improvement plans, and corrective actions.
- Conduct daily patient chart and medical record audits and schedule staff.
- Perform direct patient care services as supplemental support when needed.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures to maintain standards of care.
- Ensure timely and effective communication with staff via shift reports, unit meetings, and one‑on‑one communications.
- Serve as a key member of hospital operational leadership, collaborating with physicians, staff, and other department managers.
- Facilitate quarterly cross‑functional meetings with nurses and MHTs and participate in process improvement teams and committees.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, safety huddles, restraint reviews, and program development initiatives to enhance service quality.
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum three years of nursing management experience required (five years preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices.
- Ability to plan, direct, and monitor staff activities with leadership that promotes a positive work environment.
