School Based Registered Nurse

School Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide basic care for students when they are injured ill, and manage chronic conditions.
- Oversee the school's medication administration program.
- Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as hygiene and proper nutrition.
- Work with school staff to ensure the physical and emotional safety of the school community.
School Nurse Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Has obtained or is eligible for an endorsement as a School Nurse as prescribed in the bylaws of the State Department of Education.
- Experience or specialized training in the field of pediatric mental health is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively and courteously both verbally and in writing.
- Has the ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system.
