Build a rewarding career as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the Department of Corrections at the State Correctional Institution s position delivers essential health services within a secure correctional setting and supports the well‑being of inmates.

• Patient Care: Provide direct support with daily living activities, hygiene, and restorative techniques.
• Medication Duties: Administer prescribed medications and treatments under supervision, and document all actions.
• Health Monitoring: Observe and report physical and emotional changes in inmates.
• Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or AED when needed.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate electronic health records and prepare required medical reports.
• Supply Management: Sterilize instruments and maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies.

• Full‑time employment, 40-hour work week.
• Three work shifts cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year:
• 1st shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
• 2nd shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm
• 3rd shift: 10:00 pm to 6:30 am
• The position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: not an option for this position.
• Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $68,914.00 (before taxes).

• Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• If possessing a temporary practice permit, must obtain licensure within one year as defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• Residence requirement: PA residency is waived.
• Eligible if within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing; must provide proof of current, valid PA temporary practice permit or licensed practical nurse license upon appointment.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
