OR Clinician - Lead, Mentor, and Drive Excellence

Are you a passionate nurse leader looking to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced surgical environment? Join our team as an OR Clinician, where you'll serve as a clinical expert, mentor, and leader supporting one of our specialized surgical service lines while helping ensure the seamless operation of a high-acuity Operating Room.

Schedule

+ Daylight position

+ Five 8-hour shifts per week

+ 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

+ Leadership-focused role with opportunities to provide clinical support as needed

About the Role

The OR Clinician is a highly developed professional nurse leader responsible for fostering a culture of clinical excellence, staff engagement, and exceptional patient care. Working under the direction of the Unit Director or department leadership, this role provides direct leadership and support for a designated surgical service line while managing direct reports and assisting with the day-to-day operations of a busy Trauma and Transplant OR.

The OR Clinician serves as a role model for professional nursing practice and plays a key role in staff development, performance management, onboarding, quality improvement initiatives, and operational success.

What You'll DoLead a Specialized Surgical Service Line - ENT and Plastics

+ Provide leadership and oversight for a designated perioperative service line.

+ Support the operational effectiveness of a high-volume Trauma and Transplant OR.

+ Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and leadership to ensure efficient patient flow and surgical readiness.

+ Promote consistency, accountability, and high-quality patient care standards.

Develop and Support Staff

+ Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and mentorship for direct reports.

+ Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding activities.

+ Support staff through change initiatives and professional development opportunities.

+ Serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource for new and experienced nurses.

Champion Clinical Excellence

+ Lead quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and patient safety initiatives.

+ Identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes, staff satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

+ Ensure adherence to best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.

+ Share knowledge and innovations through education, presentations, and collaboration.

Deliver Exceptional Patient Care

+ Utilize advanced clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills to support patient care delivery.

+ Apply Relationship-Based Care principles to address the physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families.

+ Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

+ Provide clinical support and direct patient care when necessary.

+ Minimum 3 years of nursing experience

Master's degree preferred.

+ BS/BSN required.

+ If BS degree not in nursing, a Master's or higher degree in Nursing is required.

+ Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse.

The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his/her assigned unit as specified below. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.
