OR Clinician – Lead, Mentor, and Drive Excellence

Join our team as an OR Clinician, where you'll serve as a clinical expert, mentor, and leader supporting one of our specialized surgical service lines while helping ensure the seamless operation of a high-acuity Operating Room.
Schedule- Daylight position
- Five 8-hour shifts per week
- 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Leadership-focused role with opportunities to provide clinical support as needed
The OR Clinician is a highly developed professional nurse leader responsible for fostering a culture of clinical excellence, staff engagement, and exceptional patient care. Working under the direction of the Unit Director or department leadership, this role provides direct leadership and support for a designated surgical service line while managing direct reports and assisting with the day-to-day operations of a busy Trauma and Transplant OR.
The OR Clinician serves as a role model for professional nursing practice and plays a key role in staff development, performance management, onboarding, quality improvement initiatives, and operational success.
What You'll DoLead a Specialized Surgical Service Line - ENT and Plastics- Provide leadership and oversight for a designated perioperative service line.
- Support the operational effectiveness of a high-volume Trauma and Transplant OR.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and leadership to ensure efficient patient flow and surgical readiness.
- Promote consistency, accountability, and high-quality patient care standards.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and mentorship for direct reports.
- Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding activities.
- Support staff through change initiatives and professional development opportunities.
- Serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource for new and experienced nurses.
- Lead quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and patient safety initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes, staff satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
- Share knowledge and innovations through education, presentations, and collaboration.
- Utilize advanced clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills to support patient care delivery.
- Apply Relationship-Based Care principles to address the physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide clinical support and direct patient care when necessary.
- Build strong working relationships across disciplines.
- Promote engagement, collaboration, and professional accountability.

- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience. Master's degree preferred.
- BS/BSN required.
- If BS degree not in nursing, a Master's or higher degree in Nursing is required.
- Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse.
