Professional Staff Nurse – Operating Room (Full-Time)

- Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Supportive preceptors and hands-on exposure to OR nursing
Flexible, Balanced Scheduling
- After orientation: most shifts fall between 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Rotating evening and night shifts based on departmental needs
- Self-scheduling model to help support work-life balance
- Limited weekend schedule

- Specialties include:
Neuro, ENT, Ortho, Vascular, Urology, Plastics, Thoracic, Robotics & more - Strong oncology patient focus
- 40+ surgical cases daily — fast-paced, diverse, and never routine!
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care using our Relationship-Based Care Model
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses
- Apply advanced critical thinking and assessment skills in a surgical environment
- Participate in patient goal-setting and care planning
- Communicate and document care effectively
- Build meaningful relationships with patients, families, and teammates
- Perform scrub role duties
- Receive placement on our nursing career ladder based on your experience and education
- 2+ years of nursing experience STRONGLY preferred.
- Operating room experience is preferred but not required.
- Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process.
- Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients.
Licensure/Certification
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- UPMC approved national certification preferred.
- Fit Testing Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance
