Infection Control / Staff Development Registered Nurse (RN)
Shippenville Nursing and Rehab is seeking a dedicated and experienced Infection Control / Staff Development Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team. This dual-role position is essential in ensuring the highest level of care for our residents by overseeing infection prevention initiatives and leading staff education programs.
Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and monitor the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program in compliance with CDC, CMS, and DOH guidelines.
- Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, tracking, and reporting.
- Serve as a resource for staff on infection control practices and prevention strategies.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver staff development and educational programs, including onboarding, annual competencies, and mandatory in-services.
- Partner with department leaders to assess training needs and support professional growth across all levels of staff.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to ensure high standards of care and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in quality assurance/performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Current RN license in the state of Pennsylvania, unencumbered.
- Prior experience in infection control, staff education, or leadership role within a skilled nursing facility (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or willingness to obtain is a plus.
