The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients presenting with a wide variety of urgent and emergent medical conditions. The RN will utilize strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to triage patients, coordinate care, and provide life-saving interventions as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity.
- Triage patients effectively and recognize life-threatening conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders.
- Monitor patient status and communicate changes promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
- Assist with emergency procedures and interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Adhere to emergency department policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Active RN License
- Emergency Department experience required
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and multitasking skills
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume emergency setting
- Busy Emergency Department environment
- Diverse patient populations and diagnoses
- Standard patient ratios
