Schedule:

Full-time position working four 9-hour shifts per week on a rotating schedule. Hours are primarily daylight (7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.), with occasional evening shifts (3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.), on-call responsibilities, and rotating weekend coverage.

+ Minimum 3 years of RN experience required for Sr. II level; BSN preferred.

+ Completion of annual contribution requirements as outlined in UPMC's My Nursing Career Ladder.

+ UPMC-approved nursing certification required within 1 year of hire or promotion and must be maintained.

+ Certification requirement may be waived for candidates with a Master's degree in Nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).

+ If a BSN is held, a Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for the certification requirement.

+ Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across the age groups served by the department.

+ Knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and the ability to provide age-appropriate care.

+ Must achieve and maintain a Solid/Strong/Good or higher performance evaluation rating.

+ Strong relationship-building skills with patients, families, physicians, advanced practice providers, leadership, and interdisciplinary team members.

+ Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

+ Exceptional clinical judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

+ Ability to lead others in the application of the nursing process.

+ Physical stamina and mobility required, including frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positioning.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

+ Current Pennsylvania RN license or an eligible multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) license.
