Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15) | Every other weekend and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities- Provide intensive nursing care to critically ill stroke patients (ischemic and hemorrhagic) and non-traumatic neurosurgery and neurology patients aged 18 and older in a 10-bed Neurosurgical ICU setting
- Perform and manage post-operative care for neurosurgery and neuro-endovascular procedures including ICP monitoring, EVD management, angiogram post care, carotid stenting, and embolization procedures
- Administer and monitor care related to IV/IA tPA administration, mechanical thrombectomy, AVM repair, aneurysm repair, and craniotomy
- Manage CRRT, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring
- May be asked to float to other floors as needed, including ICU and acute care areas
- May provide care for COVID-positive patients
- Active RN license with no license hits (hard stop); must meet state licensure requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
- Strong background in Neuroscience ICU with demonstrated experience in EVD, ICP monitoring, angiogram post care, CRRT, carotid procedures, and embolizations
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS — AHA or ARC certifications only accepted
- EPIC charting experience required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard rate
- Strong EPIC proficiency highly preferred
- Experience caring for overflow medical patients in an ICU environment
- Familiarity with neuro-endovascular surgical procedures and post-procedure monitoring
- Opportunity to work in a specialized Neurosurgical ICU environment managing complex, high-acuity neurological and neurosurgical cases
- Candidates are reviewed through a clinical screening process to ensure a strong unit fit before manager interview
