Job Summary
:
Carnegie Mellon University is a renowned global research university known for its interdisciplinary approach to education and innovation. The Ray and Stephanie Lane Computational Biology Department is seeking a Research Associate to assist in research projects involving experiment design, data analysis, and technical reporting.
Responsibilities
:
• Working with large-scale biological data, developing; implementing algorithms, computational tools, or frameworks
• Uses a variety of software packages to input, manipulate, collect, and record results or observations.
• Performs research experiments following experimental protocol and procedures. Researches and documents information by compiling and maintaining accurate and detailed records.
• Summarizes statistical information for analysis, examination, or presentation; writes technical reports. May build and validate quantitative models.
• Identifies problems and obstacles to progress; develops strategies to solve problems.
• May program software in support of job functions. Attends project meetings.
• Performs related duties as assigned
Qualifications
:
Required
:
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience required.
• Strong programming skills required.
• Research, data collection, and analysis experience.
• Strong problem solving, reasoning, analytical and communication skills.
• A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
• Successful background check
Preferred
:
• Master’s Degree preferred.
