Laboratory Research Technician
As a Research Technician in the lab of Dr. Tatiana Moiseeva the role will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures, including mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining, western blotting, and molecular cloning. The successful Research Technician Candidate must be able to keep detailed, accurate, and timely data and logbooks and must organize and document all experimental results.
The Research Technician will also be responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and cleaning laboratory equipment. Dr. Moiseeva's research focuses on deciphering the molecular mechanism underlying the initiation of DNA replication in human cells. Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with cell biology methods including mammalian cell culture, western blotting, PCR, additional methods are preferred.
Job Summary:
Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.
Essential Functions:
Applicant must have good organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple research projects at a time are required.
Physical Effort:
Moderate
- Must stand and walk for extended periods of time to conduct experiments. Must walk every day from lab and common departmental areas. May need to lift moderate objects (e.g. centrifuge rotors) as necessary.
