Program for Genetics and Psychosis
The Program for Genetics and Psychosis is a multi-faceted laboratory and clinical program focusing on both the science and etiology of schizophrenia as well as the treatment of this devastating disorder. Our program also includes research grants geared towards the training of physicians and other mental health professionals in low-middle income countries, such as India. The Research Associate Sr will be assisting Research Operations Coordinator with all aspects of the research program, such as performing diagnostic assessments on potential research participants, performing weekly study assessments for the CATOS/APTS/RISE research studies, assisting with IRB submissions, etc.
and assisting with our international research programs (PRIIIA-TEAMS).
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit potential research participants from WPH clinics and outside providers
- Coordinate scheduling of assessments.
- Assist with quality assurance over all aspects of data collection and management, including data flow, data entry and verification, maintenance of all project databases, data security and confidentiality.
- Provides regular supervision for junior staff.
- Assisting with preparing and modifying IRB protocols, Regulatory Binders, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the research, clinical, and administrative staff related to this research.
- Coordination of recruitment ie. Advertisements, tracking recruitment, and developing strategies to increase response in targeted populations.
- Assisting with the submission of regular reports detailing the progress of the research, including NIH progress reports.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree required preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology, or related research field.
- Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
- Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
