Laboratory Research Technician
Laboratory Research Technician will maintain laboratory reagents, equipment, and space and assist with ordering. They will have an independent project with supervision as well as assist on other lab projects. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry or a related field (e.g. Chemistry, Biology). Molecular biology/biochemistry knowledge is required, and the candidate should have extensive experience working in a laboratory setting.
The technician will be required to maintain mammalian and insect cell cultures and perform protein expression and purification. They should have experience with various protein expression systems and training on using an FPLC. They will also perform biochemical and molecular biology techniques, including immunoprecipitation, kinase assays, and western blots. Good lab practice to keep cell lines healthy and available for other lab members to use as needed is mandatory.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working in a biochemistry or cell biology lab. Organizational skills and timely scheduling are necessary as well as the ability to identify and problem solve as needed.
