The Ultrasound Research Lab in the Department of Radiology is seeking a person to do research focused on contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) imaging for early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the fastest-growing cause of cancer death in the U.S. The lab is developing hydralazine-augmented contrast ultrasound (HyCUS), a novel functional imaging technique that exploits differences between tumor and liver vasculature to dramatically improve early HCC visibility, with preliminary data showing more than a 3-fold increase in lesion detectability.

This position is designed as a structured, mentored research experience for a student transitioning from undergraduate study toward a career in medicine, providing meaningful clinical and translational research exposure before matriculating to medical school.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
