When you work as a Scientist I in the Flow Cytometry group at KCAS, you get to further our mission by applying your knowledge in bioanalytical and scientific principles to support study execution under the guidance of senior scientists. You will contribute to study activities from setup through data generation while building your foundation in assay performance, data integrity, and troubleshooting.
Our Flow Cytometry team utilizes advanced instrumentation and analytical techniques to support bioanalytical testing in drug discovery, preclinical, and clinical studies, including immunophenotyping, cell-based assays, and biomarker analysis in biological matrices.
This role follows a structured Tuesday–Saturday work schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) to support ongoing study execution and operational needs. Flexibility is required, including the ability to work an adjusted shift of 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM when needed to meet business demands and ensure continuity of laboratory operations.
In this role, we will rely on you to:- Execute assigned portions of studies including sample preparation, staining protocols, and flow cytometry data acquisition under supervision
- Support method development, qualification, and validation activities by following established protocols
- Perform data processing and assist in preparing data summaries for review
- Troubleshoot routine assay or instrumentation issues with guidance
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with study protocols, SOPs & regulatory requirements
- Ensure proper sample identification, handling, and tracking
- Communicate progress and raise issues to senior staff as needed
- Support laboratory operations, including maintaining supplies and ensuring readiness for study execution
- Perform all aspects of the job in a way that supports company brand and supports company mission, vision and values
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting (academic or industry)
- Familiarity with flow cytometry techniques and instrumentation preferred
- Basic understanding of cell-based assays and immunological principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOP-driven workflows
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical documentation and basic computer skills
- Ability to work a Tuesday–Saturday schedule, with flexibility for adjusted hours as needed
- Commitment to quality, safety, and compliance in a laboratory environment
- Phlebotomy certification
- Availability to support late shift hours (11:00 AM – 8:00 PM) as needed
