The Chemist 4 serves as Chief of the Laboratory Accreditation Program within the Department of Environmental Protection, managing scientific, administrative, and compliance activities that support environmental laboratory standards across Pennsylvania. This full‑time civil service position involves directing laboratory accreditation programs, overseeing professional staff, evaluating assessment records, coordinating policy with regulatory partners, and providing technical guidance on laboratory standards.
Key qualifications- One year as a Chemist 3 or equivalent Federal Government position
- Three years of professional chemical analytical experience and a bachelor's degree with 30+ credits in chemistry or biochemistry
- Two years of professional chemical analytical experience and a graduate degree in chemistry
- Must possess and maintain a REAL passport
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements
