Position:Armed Security Officer / Senior Response Officer (SRO)
Location:
Pittsburgh and Surrounding
Schedule:
Tuesday–Saturday / 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (schedule may vary based on operational needs and call-offs)
Pay: $20.00 per hour +mileage
We are seeking a certified ACT 235 Armed Security Officer to also serve in a Senior Response Officer (SRO) capacity. This role includes field oversight responsibilities, post coverage, and support for regional armed security operations.
Requirements- Valid ACT 235 certification (required)
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record (MVR check required)
- Own firearm and required armed security equipment
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–2 years of security experience preferred
- Prior military or law enforcement experience preferred
- At least one verifiable prior employer
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must pass pre-employment screening including drug test and full background check
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Conduct daily and weekly inspections of assigned officers across multiple sites within the region
- Ensure compliance with post orders, professionalism, and operational standards
- After completing weekly inspections, be scheduled to relieve overtime at designated armed posts as needed
- Assist the Field Supervisor with any operational duties required to support the armed security division
- Provide coverage and operational support for DLCs (Detention/Distribution Logistics Contracts or assigned client sites) and Workers' Compensation Court assignments, especially during call-offs or staffing shortages
- Maintain readiness to respond to urgent staffing and operational needs across the region
- Greet visitors and monitor access to facilities
- Enforce client rules, regulations, and post orders
- Patrol assigned areas or maintain fixed posts as directed
- Observe and report suspicious activity or security concerns
- Respond to emergencies including medical incidents, fire alarms, bomb threats, and intrusions
- Follow established emergency response procedures
- Provide a visible deterrent to criminal activity and policy violations
- Complete incident reports accurately and promptly
- Maintain a positive, loyal, and professional work ethic
- Deliver high-quality customer service at all times
- Handle both routine and crisis situations effectively
- Maintain neat, professional appearance at all times
- Competitive hourly wage of $20.00/hour
