Flex Security Officer
Allied Universal is hiring Flex Security Officers at multiple hospitals in Pittsburgh/surrounding area. This is a full-time position with a rate of $18.15 per hour. The weekend flex officer role includes assisting nursing staff with patient restraints and escorting nursing staff to the hospital morgue with deceased patients. Officers must be at least 21 years of age, frequently walk/stand, and have moderate technological usage.
Multiple vaccinations are required prior to working on-site, including two-stage tuberculosis screening, MMR, Varicella, and Tetanus screenings. Child abuse clearance will be submitted icers get paid weekly, uniforms and equipment are provided at no cost, and there are excellent benefits and career progression opportunities. Responsibilities include performing security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in vehicle, documenting observations, assisting hospital staff with de-escalation of situations, transporting patients to the morgue, assisting in evacuations, sounding alarms, warning violators, permitting authorized persons to enter property, investigating and preparing reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintaining written logs as required.
Qualifications must include a high school diploma or equivalent, current driver's license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle, minimum of two years of verifiable employment history relating to customer service or the protective service industry, ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors, demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public, effective oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills, active listening skills, ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively, ability to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy, ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately, and attention to detail.
Preferred qualifications include service in military occupational specialty related to law enforcement, security, graduate of a certified public safety academy, bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies, a minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch, and an associate's degree or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service.
