Security Officer ; Midnight to ; Wernersville State Hospital

This position focuses on maintaining the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors, and property across a large hospital campus. You help ensure order, address concerns, and support daily operations throughout all areas of the facility. As a Security Officer 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Campus Patrols: Survey buildings, tunnels, and grounds to identify hazards, unauthorized persons, or unusual conditions
• Conduct Monitoring: Observe behavior of patients, visitors, and staff to help maintain orderly and safe surroundings
• Traffic Oversight: Enforce parking and vehicle regulations to support smooth and safe travel on hospital property
• Incident Response: Assist with missing patient searches, preliminary investigations, and escort needs across the facility
• Emergency Support: Coordinate with fire, police, and medical teams during urgent situations and provide clear directions
• Record Keeping: Document activities, observations, and incidents in daily logs and structured reports

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, with varied days off and two 15-minute breaks. You will be required to work every other weekend, and your schedule may change based on operational needs.

• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $38,515.00 (before taxes).
